My first class

I am not the most confident person on the planet but I do love my cardmaking and scrapbooking and after many months of procrastination and after having been approached from some ladies at school to run a class I DID!!! It was so much fun!!! and don't you know it they actually want to come back. How very exciting. So here is what we made.

First up was the scallop note tote

Then a gift card holder.

A match box (with the chocolate)

and finally finishing with a very simple card which we will all give to the school as they like to send them out regularly. The plan is to make one card just for the school everytime we meet so we can build up a constant supply for them. Fun huh!

So all pretty simple and I can't wait to start planning for next month now.

Thanks for looking LOL Tamara

I can't believe what has happened to the post AAArgh! I so don't understand computers. I am so sorry but have given up so it will just have to be posted the way it is - or isn't in this case - SORRY!

Mojo Monday 126

What a fab sketech from the Mojo Makers this week. I really struggled to fit everything on my card as I really wanted to use the new stamps I had just received but I like the overall end result. I have had to adjust the sketch a wee bit but thats life!

I have used the Pink Flamingo DSP which is so awesome and bright and as this is going to an 8 year old I think totally fitting.

So here's the sketch and my take on it. I have also made a small box (yep one of Laurens) to match for the birthday girl.

And just as a by-the-way I received a copy of the new Autumn/Winter mini Catalogue yesterday from SU. Gotta say its a real goody. For those waiting for a Big Shot the BIG news is that they are HERE! You can get the Big Shot and all the accessories from the 1st of April. Now is that exciting or WHAT!!

Well thanks again for looking LOL Tamara

Stamp Club Projects

As mentioned in my previous post I was going to share the projects that the wonderful Cherie taught us the other night at Stamp Club. Sorry it wasn't the day after as I had said but you know how life gets in the way!!!

So here they are. Card Organisers. Fantastic project and so much fun. They are essentially decorated shoeboxes but what a fab idea. These are great for gifts but in my case they are perfect to get me organised for the busy year ahead. I am all inspired to get ahead of myself this year. Now all I need it more time!!!

Thanks for looking. LOL Tamara

Birthday Girls and Stamp Club

A Fab night at stamp club tonight. Thanks so much Cherie. We all had a blast and tomorrow I will show you what we made. But tonight at club we celebrated the birthday of two of our friends. One turns a very special birthday who may not appreciate me sharing it here but its the birthday that has the saying "life begins at ......" . Anyway a very happy birthday Jo and Colleen and I hope you had a bit of fun.

The first card was for Jo and uses the Bella Rose DSP. The second is for Colleen and I really wanted to go girly for her card as she is in a house full of boys and she is such an amazing woman.

Enjoy and thanks for looking

To Cool For School

I know its a little over the top when we are only talking about a homework book but my eldest daughter Kyra loves craft and she asked and I of course thought it would be fun.

I already had the stamps out and I know her favourite colour is blue so it was really quick to put together. Am so pleased I bought the butterfly Punch from SU as I used the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and simply punched them out. Fantastic.

Funny thing is the kids in her class are now wanting theirs like Kyras. We shall have to see.
Thanks for looking LOL Tamara
P.S. Sorry about the BAD photos. I had to quickly photograph them at night as I knew I wouldn't get another chance once Kyra saw it.

More Birthday Cards

While the kids are quiet (not sure thats a good thing though!) I'll just quickly post this card that I made based on the Mojo 123 sketch that I totally missed the deadline for but still I enjoyed making it. I have used that gorgeous Raspberry Tart DSP and teamed it with Kiwi Kiss accessories and whallah it came together pretty quickly. I have something like 20 birthdays from January to March so I am frantically trying to stockpile a few. I have some more birthday cards to show you however the ladies they are intended for tend to check out this blog occassionally and it would just be my luck for them to see it before I could give them to them. So will load them at the end of the week.

Thanks for looking LOL Tamara

Mojo 125

Yay another Mojo Monday Sketch complete before the deadline. Was in serious doubt that I could pull it off this week. Now I am officially a Stay At Home Mum (SAHM) my life seems busier than ever. How did I manage to fit everything in when I was working? Its quite amazing and I tip my hat off to all you lovely ladies whether you are a SAHM or a working mum. We do quite an amazing job!

So here's the sketch and my take on it. It is a real hodgepodge of supplies. I have pulled out retired SU papers. Brads that I have had for ages, a new stamp though and or course my copics. I have also made a small mailbox to go with it. All very cute and ready for a 6th Birthday party that Paige is going to tomorrow.

Mojo 124

I actually finished this card a few nights ago but you know time flies when your having fun and I haven't been able to load it until now.

Here's my entry for the Mojo Monday challenge 124. I have used the Candy Lane DSP and made everything to co-ordinate with those colours. (Gotta love Stampin Up and their co-ordination). I have coloured my image with Copics and used star dust stickles on her wings and of course felt flowers and button bouquet buttons. I have also finally inked up the new "Whimsical Words" SU saleabration stamp set which is definately my pick of the bunch this year yet all the sets are very cute.

A Waitangi Day Birthday

Howdy Partner!!!! yeh like a city girl knows how to speak cowboy. At least the stamp set I used "Billy" from Pink Cat Studio knows how to speak to a very special 3 year old buddy of ours who celebrated his birthday today. I hope you had a fabulous day today Luca and thanks so much for including us on your big day. (Mum you did a great job today and we had an awesome time, thanks so much).

So here's the card I made for Luca and I actually made it based on a flipped version on Mojo 122. I used creamy caramel and really rust which are 2 colours that have been gathering dust for me, but gee I was so pleased with the result. I have coloured my image with my much treasured copics and the sentiment is embossed to make it pop. All in all I was pretty happy with the result and I sure hope Mum was too!

And just to continue this post. I need to introduce you to our new family member 'King Trident' (just need to remind you before you judge us by the name that my kids are aged 7, 5, 4, 2 - tee hee). He joined our family on Tuesday and is the unwelcome respondent of many kisses, hugs and squeezes. Many have since told me that they have been there and done that with guinea pigs but those that know me know I like to find out things the hard way. So without further ado I give you our new guinea pig - King Trident (yeh you know the little mermaids dad).

I hesitate to inform you that a brother for this King will arrive in a months time. The names for that one will astound you LOL!!! Watch this space

Dad's and Lads Cards

Happy Tuesday. Ahhh its so nice not having to work. We started off the day with the 2 older kids going back to school and I took the 2 younger kids off to mainly music. What fun! I even have a few minutes to blog today. Yippee!!!

First I would like to share a couple of cards made with a stamp set I found while in Perth. A perfect set to use for those hard to make for boys in our lives. The first card is for my brother back in Perth who has a birthday tomorrow. Happy Birthday Uncle Nathan!!! I also made a gift card holder which is from the resource section on splitcoast stampers should you wish to give it a go. Splitcoast is such an awesome resource. The second is the same just different colours for Uncle Dean who is here in New Plymouth. I have used one of the Mojo sketches but its well past its due by date now.

Lastly I just had to share what mum sent me at Christmas. Isn't she clever. Mum pulled apart one of the packages I had sent her and recreated it. You are getting very bold mother. I am very impressed. (love you!!)

We had the most amazing time and I am still struggling trying to get back to "real life". Just thought I would share a couple of photos of our holiday with you for today and then catch you up on what I have been doing craft wise from tomorrow.

I hope you are all well and I pray for a happy and healthy 2010 for you all!!!
