Thank you for Mainly Music

On Wednesday night I had a wonderful group of girls join me in making fathers day gifts, theme days gifts and theme day morning tea for our local Mainly Music families. One we had completed the tasks at hand and we were enjoying a relaxing chat and coffee (of course with cake!) one of the girls mentioned thank you cards for all our helpers at mainly music. It is so important to thank people don't you think? Just letting each other know how much they mean to us and a small amount of appreciation sure brightens anyone's day. Anyhow (gee I can ramble), the short story is we needed to make 50 cards and it was getting late so this is what I came up with. I must say that I have really really enjoyed the Pocket Silouettes stamp set. Its just fills all the gaps and comes up trumps as it did in this case. Just wanted to show you what 50 3x3 thank you cards, made in 30 minutes looked like!
Thanks for looking and have a fabulous weekend.

Mojo101 and another birthday

Would you believe my eldest daughter has ANOTHER party to go to. Gee do you guys get this too when it feels like they are out all the time and you are just a taxi. Yeh I am sure you do. Anyway as I really wanted to get to the latest Mojo Monday sketch before they loaded the new one I used it to create this birthday card.
Very subtle colours and a stretch for me as I love the bright ones however this was really different and lots of fun. Then of course as I love making gift packaging to match I made another Milk carton holder and cartons and filled them with lollies in one and smellies in the other. I also had a note pad just appear out of nowhere (I tidied up under my desk and ta-da it just popped out). So I covered it, yep you guessed it.... to co-ordinate and even used the same DSP in the pen. My daughter loved it so I am sure her friend will which is all that counts. I won't tell them that the whole present cost approx $5.

I used: (All images are Stampin Up unless indicated)
C/stock: Almost Amethyst, Whisper White, So Saffron, Tea Party DSP
Ink: Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Momento Tuxedo Black (non SU)
Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Enchanted Lily (Pink Cat Studio)
Accessories: Corner Rounder, Spiral Pinch, Rich Regals Brads, Ice circle rhinestone bards, So Saffron and Almost Amethyst ribbon (retired SU ribbon Originals - Fairytale), Dimensionals, Copics (non SU), Milk Made Timeless Template - by Lauren Meader.
Thanks again for looking and I just want to add that I am completely blown away by the FABULOUS and KIND comments you have been leaving. I just want you to know how much I appreciate them and thank you so much. Tamara

A Present for Me!

Wow todays post was just soooo exciting. I received a box from my awesome folks in sunny Perth (I tell everyone its sunny even if its not LOL just gives me another reason to complain about the cold weather here!). Check out how clever my mum is. She made me a double pocket bag and a matching card and I absolutely LOVE it. Thanks so much Mum. I think you are so clever and I am happy to be the recipient of any of your creations! Just to top it off, Mum filled the bag with salted licorice (the Big diamonds, my favourite YUM!)

Love you mum and thanks again! (by the way you really need to send some more licorice as the bag seems to be empty now??????).

Thanks for looking I have many other things to share today but really wanted to have a post dedicated to my clever and inspiring mum!

We Stamp Wednesday #3

Wonder if the We Stamp team will notice that I have only just now uploaded my take on the WSW Sketch #3 challenge the night before they will upload their new challenge? Nothing like leaving it to the last minute huh! I did enjoy the chance to use "my new stuff" though and the colours are just simply divine. This card is actually intended for my MIL's birthday coming up soon so I sure hope she likes it. Who wouldn't considering it features some dazzle and gorgeous new buttons? Anyway enough waffle here's my take on the sketch.

and I tried a closeup of the sparkle on the butterflies but... well.... you get the idea?

I have taken to decorating the inside of my cards now too but kept this one really simple as the kids all like to write their special messages to their grandparents as well.

With keeping up my theme of everything having to match etc etc oh and of course me really NEEDING to use some of those gorgeous new buttons from SU I also made this little bag which will hold the chocolates that will have to go in at the last minute or otherwise be taste tested until I have finished them all!!!
Thats all from me today. Just a quick post as I really need to get all my supplies ready for school this afternoon where a few of us busy mums will be teaching 16 primary age students the art of scrapbooking. I am really looking forward to it. This is our 5th week of introducing them to papercraft and it is such a pleasure seeing them really enjoy it. Wish us luck.
I have used (all products Stampin Up unless otherwise stated):

C/stock: basic Grey, Cameo Coral, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Walk In The Park DSP
Ink: Basic Grey, Cameo Coral, Baja Breeze
Stamps: Oval All, Great Friend
Accessories: Basic Grey Corduroy Buttons, Large Oval punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Dimensionals, Basic Grey Taffeta Ribbon, Mat Pack, Dazzling Diamonds, 2 way glue pen.

Inkspirations Sketch #12 and then the rest

All the best laid plans.... etc etc. I had some big plans for this weekend stamping-wise but you know how it goes when life gets in the way. We had a great time though. It was very social and lots of fun and awesome weather so I really don't have a lot to share except this which I had sooo much fun creating. Yet again my oldest daughter is invited to another birthday party and this of course provides me with a legitimate excuse to go all girly. 7 year olds still tolerate cutsey fortunately.

I started off with Makeesha's Inkspirations Sketch Challange #12 and came up with this card using my new Enchanted Lily Stamps which are absolutely gorgeous and so much fun to colour.

This image just "screamed" for movement so using one of the new flower brads from SU she now swings from side to side and I have even put an image underneath her that can only be read if she does swing. Check it out. Oh so cute!

Once again I have used a Timeless Template courtesy of the extremely talented Lauren Meader and very quickly whipped up this Fold and Go which houses cute little bottles of toiletries for the birthday girl. And to finish up, no present is complete without lollies which are in this very cute paint tin I found at The Warehouse. Just how I love it! A complete gift all colour co-ordinated and very girly.

I have used: (all products Stampin Up unless indicated)

C/stock: Cameo Coral, Rose Red, Whisper White, Raspberry Tart DSP
Ink: Cameo Coral, Rose Red
Stamps: Embrace Life, Enchanted Lily (Pink Cat Studio)
Accessories: Rose Red Grosgrain Dble Stitched 1", Gold Brads, Flower Brads, Felt Fusion Flowers, Labels 3 Nestabilities, Mat Pack, Eyelet Border Punch, 1 1/4" Circle punch, Copics, Spica Glitter Pens, Paint Tin (The Warehouse), Fold N Go Template - Lauren Meader.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a lovely Monday.

Mojo 100 a thank you and a RAK

A big post today, well not so much big but lots to share. Mojo Monday have reached 100 woohoo. What a FAB job these ladies do and it is with great anticipation that I wait for every Monday for the latest sketch. Thank you so much for all your contributions. And it is on this note that I thought I would make the Mojo 100 sketch a thank you card. In addition to the sketch I thought I would challenge myself to use a colour that I never ever thought I would ever use. I was chatting with some fellow stampers yesterday and we talked about what colours we steer way away from. Tangerine Tango came up so I thought I would give it a shot last night.

Here's my take on the Mojo 100 sketch. I actually really like it, but maybe thats just me. You can't see it in the photo but I have used my new Spica glitter pens on all the petals. Very subtle glitter but I think it look fab IRL.

I have used (all products Stampin Up unless indicated):
C/stock: Chocolate chip, tangerine tango, kiwi kiss, whisper white, summer sun
Ink: chocolate chip, tangarine tango, kiwi kiss
Stamps: Trendy trees, funky forest wheel
Accessories: sizzix flower daisies, gold brads (non SU), tangerine tango striped 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, spica glitter pens, eyelet border punch, mat pack, cutter kit - distressing tool, circle scalloped nestie

In addition, as the school quiz night/auction has finished there is a need to make thank you cards and send them to all those that contributed towards the huge success that it was. We need to make 60 cards (yep 60 aaarrrrgh) and being on my tangerine tango experiment I thought I would simplify the card above and came up with this. It is now awaiting approval before I attempt to carve some time out of my week to do the other 59!!!

And (yep I'm not finished yet) look what I received this morning in the post. How very exciting and wow what a fabulous, fabulous card. Gotta case this one. Thank you so much Jo I really enjoyed receiving your card and thank you so much for thinking of me.

Have a great Wednesday. Really should do some work now. Thanks for visiting

Bella Rose Altered Suitcase

Just a quick one. Wayyyy back in June I gave a good friend of mine an altered suitcase, however, I was never really thrilled with how it turned out and being that she is a good friend I asked for it back! (i know indian giver huh!) Any how I have stripped it and given it another shot and finally have given it back to her. All happy now.

I have used the Bella Rose DSP which has to be my favourite out of the Stampin Up Ideas Book and Catalogue this year or maybe its the raspberry tart or pink flamingo or wait .... the sweet always. Ah Tamara give it up, I Love all of them!!!
Enjoy
LOL Tamara

WSW Challenge 2

A great and fun sketch from We Stamp once again. I have been dying to give it a go since last Wednesday but you know how it is with time.... just flies by far too fast. So any how here's my take on it.

I have used (all products Stampin Up unless indicated)
C/stock: rose red, cameo coral, whisper white, rasberry tart DSP (i LOVE it!)
Ink: rose red, cameo coral, pretty in pink (and corresponding markers)
Stamps: One of a Kind

Accessories: silver flower brands, silver brads, curly label punch, boho blossoms punch, circle nesties, mat pack.

I have given this card to a very special person in our lives, our nanny Tasha. She is just gorgeous and its her anniversary with us today. She has been looking after our precious kids for 2 whole years now and I appreciate her sooo very much. Have a great day Tasha and we love you!

So I just have to tell you about our quiz night/auction the other night. We do NOT consider ourselves smart people so we really didn't go to win, we only went to support our school however it was such a fun night. I am sure some were feeling very sorry for themselves the next day but it was all for a great cause. Our school needed $10K for the remaining laptops we were fundraising for and I can excitedly tell you that we raised that and MORE! How awesome. Sure makes all the hard work worthwhile and I am so very grateful to all who attended. Thank you Thank you.

Have a great Monday

Mojo 99 and a sheep request

Wow its been a whole week since I have been able to get on the computer. This week has been full of sickness for our family and thankfully it now seems all over. I did manage to put together this last night though. Not so sure I am completely happy with it but what is done is done. One of my friends has been going through my card stash for years whenever she needs one but this time she had a special request in that she needed a "sheep" themed card for her partners birthday. Now I am sure you are all familiar with the sheep jokes in reference to New Zealanders and if you are not I apologise but this is why she needed one. So I used the latest Mojo sketch which to me was just begging for some sort of pocket on it and after discussing my plan with my bestie she suggested the magic card idea(thanks so much Cherie don't know how I'd cope without you!) and so this idea was born.
The pocket

The little tag and the inside of the card

I used:
(all products are Stampin Up unless stated)
C/stock: chocolate chip, kiwi kiss, summer sun, whisper white, good morning sunshine DSP
Stamps: Pun Fun, Stem Sayings
Ink: chocolate chip, black stazon
Accessories: twill tape, OHP transparency (not SU), 1/4" whisper white grosgrain, jumbo eyelets antique brass, 1 3/8" circle punch, crimper
Have a great weekend! We are heading out to my daughters school quiz/auction night. Should be fun. I just got home from helping to set up and it looks great.

Animals, Animals, Animals

How much fun was this to create! I made this for a special man in our lives who turns eight today. Happy happy birthday Cory!!!!

I love blog hopping. Absolutely awesome for inspiration. One person I haunt regularly for her AWESOME ideas is Mel McCarthy http://melstampz.blogspot.com/. Check her out. So I took a sketch from Mojo Monday 95 and made an animal based card to match my box which worked out perfectly as our stamp club challenge this month was animal based so thats that job done. I also made a belly band for the tin which contained cash for the birthday boy. The forest box was filled with lollies (as you do).

I haven't included a list of what I used as I am pressed for time today. A ton of sunshine out there to enjoy in Taranaki today. I hope you like.

Thanks for looking
Have a great weekend, Tamara

Mojo Monday 98

So yep I missed the cut off for the last sketch challenge but check it out! I have completed this weeks one already. This card is made for a VERY VERY special friend in my life and if she sees this post before the postman gets to her, I'm so sorry!

I love loads of layers on cards so this sketch was extra-exciting for me. And apart from being a tad heavy-handed with the stickles I am okay with the end result.

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #11

Makeeshas' blog has been an absolute favourite of mine for the longgggest time and I have been playing along in complete secret to all her challenges. However now I have my own blog I feel like I am "out of the closet" and can really join in all the fun. Here's my sample for the latest sketch challenge. As I have said before these challenges are my absolute FAV's.

Not only that but I have just completed 2 posts in one day. Gee anyone would think I have all the time in the world! Sometimes I can amaze even myself LOL!

Now you would be forgiven for thinking that once again my photography is extremely bad (and you are quite right), however the central image was really really hard for my camera to focus on. I have stamped the big rose from Fifth Avenue Floral 3 times, twice in kiwi kiss and once in basic grey as I thought it would look cool and I do like how it turn out IRL. Oh well you get the idea??
All items are Stampin Up unless otherwise stated.
Paper: Kiwi kiss, basic grey, Urban Oasis DSP, whisper white
Ink: Kiwi kiss, basic grey
Stamps: Fifth avenue floral, think happy thoughts
Accessories: kiwi kiss 5/8" striped grosgrain, clear circle rhinestone brads, mat pack, dimensionals, scallop circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, spiral punch (inside), 1/2"circle, cutter kit.

Mojo Monday 97

Just as Mojo Monday load up another challenge I manage to just complete the last one. Well better late than never I say!! I am an absolute HUGE fan of sketch challenges. Love em. I love seeing how different everyones take on the sketches are and find they are a huge source of inspiration. This is my take on last weeks sketch. My eldest daughter has a birthday party on Saturday which seems to be a never ending occurance at our house with the four kids being invited here there and everywhere. Their social life sure outshines mine but what better excuse to make cards! So whilst the birthday is not themed I used the excuse that it was for an 8 year old girl to use the new stamp set that just arrived in the post this weekend. How exciting. I do have a lot to learn about colouring with Copics though but the more practise the better.

All products are Stampin Up unless otherwise stated. I have used:

C/stock: whisper white, tempting turquoise, taken with teal, bali breeze DSP (retired)
Stamps: Something Fishy Wheel, Underwater Sentiments - Amy R Stamps, Ginger Snap Underwater Sugar Plums Stamps
Accessories: eyelet border punch (inside card), photo corner punch, 1/2" circle punch, fine supernova glitter blue, kindyglitz crystalina, mermaid stickles, champagne stickles, liquid pearls, round and scallop nestabilities, copics, spica pens, My Timeless Templates (Lauren Meader) - Pretty Petal Pocket.

We Stamp Multi Box

Really liking this box. So versatile with its many variations for use. And I am loving the DSP in the current 09/10 Stampin Up Catalogue. They are all so gorgeous and the hardest decision is which one to use. LOL. I have every intention of filling this box up with chocolate but for anyone that knows me that would be unwise until just before I gift it as the chocolates will last about 2 seconds in my sticky fingers. Ya gotta do what you gotta do. Thanks girls for another great project, hope I did it justice. Happy Monday and thanks for looking!

For this project I used

Ink: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, C/Stock: Riding Hood Red, Candy Lane DSP, Very Vanilla, Accessories: Pink Pirouette Ribbon, Build a Brad (pewter), Sticky Cuts Sweet, fine supernova glitter in pink and brown, Stamps: Circle Circus, Stem Sayings, Petal Pizzazz

Thanks Tamara

We Stamp WSSC1

OOOh! I just love sketch challenges. How exciting that We Stamp have issued one. Here's my sample which was perfect timing as a friend of mine has just given birth to a baby girl. This just happens to be her 7th child and I just think she is absolutely AMAZING. And I thought I was busy with 4. Anyways....

I made the card and then wanted to make a gift set so I called on one of Lauren Meaders "My Timeless Templates" which are all just adoreable and used "Milk Made". What you can't see in the blurry photo (sorry about that still learning how to do this stuff) is that inside the "milk cartons" I have managed to squeeze in booties, bibs, baby head band and a gorgeous hat and best of all they all have pink pirouette and regal rose on them. Howz that for a set huh! Well I thought I was pretty clever anyway.

So this project used the following: (all products Stampin Up unless otherwise stated)
C/stock: regal rose, whisper white, pink pirouette, Sweet Always DSP
Stamps: Always, Nursery Necessities, Bear Hugs (CC Designs)
Ink: Black Stazon, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette
Accessories: Regal Rose 5/8" Grosgrain, Pretty in Pink 1/4" Grosgrain, Build a Brad - Pewter, Wide Oval Punch, Oval Punch, Dble Rectangle Punch, Mat Pack, Lauren Meader - My Timeless Template - Milk Made
Catch Ya Later and thanks for visiting
