Last Class for 2010

We had a lovely night the other night at my place winding up the 2010 year and celebrating by making some last minute gift ideas. It will be nice to have a wee break and spend more time with the family and with my folks arriving on new years day, I am looking forward to lots of laughs and adventures!!

We started off the evening making these super simple gift card holders.

I was so excited to see I could buy Christmas jelly beans this year as I sorted them out from a mixed pack last year!!

This card is called a ferrero rocher card and we all had a blast with this one.

This is a version I had made earlier for our stamp club challenge back in November. It is intended for someone very special and now I will be able to give it to her.

We also made a gorgeous handbag however somehow the 2 samples I had made have mysteriously disappeared from my craft space! Hmmmmm I do have 3 daughters, they love shoes and handbags ..... I wonder??

So if I don't get on here before Christmas I wish you and your family a very special time together. Just remember the real reason for the celebration is the birth of Christ our Lord!!

Enjoy and thanks for looking. LOl Tamara

Christmas at SJB School

I love sharing this passion of papercrafting with kids. Ever since my kids started school I have made a little something with them in their classes. I found this very easy when there was only 1 or 2 or 3 classes to do however teachers and students in other classes would look on forlornly and wait for the day that one of my kids would attend their class. So to alleviate this problem I spoke with a couple of the other mums equally passionate about this craft and after they agreed to help I cut and prepared enough to make 9 classrooms happy. And I might add we had a complete BLAST! I am so grateful to all the helpers on the days that we were there and I hope they had as much fun as I did! Here's what we did.

Thanks for looking. Have a great day. LOL T

$2.00 Cards December 2010

This is the selection of cards that some ladies were able to make at my place at the beginning of December. I hosted two evenings to ensure as many people as possible could benefit from making their own Christmas Cards this year. The bonus for me was that I had not been able to sit and make my own cards this year so whatever was left over then became my Christmas cards so all I need to do now is write them out!!!!!

Thanks for looking. LOl Tamara

Baby Cards for work

Wow another post today! While I should have been writing out my Christmas Cards last night I knew I also needed to make a few baby cards for work. When a client or a contractor we know have a baby we like to let them know we are thinking of them so I always try and keep a few at work ready. I received an email during the wek informing me that the stockpile was non existent so I really had to get moving and make a few! Here's what I came up with.

Thanks for looking. Have a great day. LOL Tamara

Some special birthdays

Another month elapses and we are well on our way to the rush time of Christmas preparation. In between classes, school card making and other stuff I am involved in it has been a super busy couple of months. My apologies again.

I will share with you some of the things I have been up to lately (in case anyone bothers to visit this blog anymore due to my spasmodic entries (again apologies).

This ensemble was made for a friend of Kyras who turned the ripe age of 9 over the weekend. I have used the box in the bag idea but shrunk it and created a carrier for them. Each small bag has either chocolates, lollies, lipgloss or money in it. I really enjoyed this project!

4 little box in a bag and the carrier.

This bright colourful concoction was made for my best mate and her birthday was the beginning of December (hope you had an awesome one Cherie!). The box was a mini version of one Cherie showed us how to make at stamp club and this one housed jewellery and chocolates. The perfect gift I reckon! I used the gorgeous bright Island Oasis DSP which I had only just received from the courier that day.

And this one was for the girls dance teacher Miss Chere as her birthday was the end of November. I have wanted to use the SU Razzle Dazzle stamp set for awhile so challenged myself to use it for her. I am pleased with the result.

Another bag made with Becky Roberts pattern. Thanks again Becky! Am loving this one so very much!

Ok so thats me for now. I have a few more things to show you that are far more Christmassy. Thanks for looking LOL Tamara

Just a pile of stuff

Here's a real mixture of projects that I have been working on in between preparing for fortnightly classes that I have been doing with some awesome people from the girl's school.

This first one was for Paige's friend Maddison who turned 6. The bag is from Becky Roberts who has the BEST templates. Check her out. It looks so real! The DSP is the fabulous Love Letter from SU.

This one is for Wendy who had her birthday yesterday. Happy Birthday Wendy! She is such a lovely bubbly person and whilst her favourite colour is red (in any shade, I might add) I loved how bright these colours are! Judging from her response she loved it.

The milk cartons are made from the SU die and the box was just made to fit them. Very quick and easy. I am also loving all the different shades of tafetta ribbon that SU has now!

This card was so much fun. Its called an accordian fold card and you can find the instructions on Splitcoast. My son (3) was invited to a party from one of his friends at kindy and I asked him what Benny liked. My instructions were trains, lions and blue. I think I covered it all??

The box is the Box #2 die from SU. Makes packaging a breeze!

This card was made in great haste as I had forgotten one of the girls dance teachers birthday. Happy 14th Caitlyn. Hope you had a great day!
I really wanted to colour something in so found this image I had not used in quite awhile. Looks close enough to a ballerina wouldn't you say??

The bag is the Box #1 die from SU.

And lastly Paige attended another party last week for her friend Rosie who also turned 6. We had bought some really cute tiny containers of stationery modelled on the Smiggles stuff but as New Plymouth doesn't have Smiggles yet we went for second best. What better than to put it into a suitcase (template from Lauren Meader).

DSP is Raspberry Tart now retired from SU. (I still love the colours though).

Hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for looking.

Nearly a Month!!

Crikey its amazing that nearly a whole month has passed me by without consciously noting it. Amazing. I have soooo much to share and will try to do so over the next week or so.

I will start by sharing all the awesome cards that I received (for my birthday) from some very talented and special people that I am blessed to know. Thank you all sooo much. I feel very spoilt! I very much appreicate you all! (Yep even you bro!)

These two gorgeous cards were made by my (I think they are very talented) daughters. Paige is 6 and Anika is 5 and they made them with their Dad while I was away with Kyra on an IFG camp a few days before my birthday.

This lovely creation is from my mum. I love it mum fab job!!!

From Alayne

This card blew me away. Cherie you always manage to suprise and fully inspire me. Thank you so much. I have shown 3 different views so you can all see how very cool and detailled this card is.

From Jo another fab creation thanks.

From Tania. Just gorgeous, thanks.

From Wendy. You go girl! Very girly (very Tamara) Thanks heaps

And this one! I was dared to put this on my blog and once dared you just HAVE to follow through. This once I received from my darling nieces and my brother from Perth WA. In his words "this must be the tackiest card ever" and "obviously I missed out on the card making creative genes". This had me in fits of laughter. I have shared it with all my friends and now because he dared me too I have to share it all with you too. LOL

And yeh Nath you are right, definately tacky but very you in the fun stakes. Thanks heaps. I win the dare! Chocolate or salted licorice will cover your debt!
Thanks for looking LOL Tamara
