IFG - Northpoint Baptist

I am priviledged to be a part of a program entitled IFG (see below). It is a breakoff from the Girls' Brigade Program which has run forever and involves loads of adventure, activities, or as we like to put it blood muck and adventure for 8-13 year old girls. We have so much fun together and it is very exciting that we have 48 girls attending. Units are being set up around the country as I speak and the leaders are all very passionate about the program and the ministry.

So where I am I going with all this...... Well we are planning to attend a camp with the other units in October 2010 and the last few weeks have planned craft activities for the girls to complete so they can have a big sale and hopefully raise money to get them to camp and earn their entrepreneurs badge. We have painted canvases, potted plants, sewed aprons, made bath bombs, made filled jars, made jams etc etc. and last week the girls made cards (ahhh so thats where it is going). So below is the cards they made to sell in a pack of six.

Wish us luck and if you are around New Plymouth see you tonight at 6pm at Northpoint Baptist.

Boys stuff

Having three girls means I am naturally drawn to girly colours and girly stamps but fortunately we have friends that have a ton of boys so I do on the rare occassion get to play with my "boy" stamps. Here is a look at what I created for two of those boys recently for their birthdays.

The first was a pirate themed party and I can tell you that I fiddled for quite awhile to get my "boat" right however I was quite pleased with the final result.

The second was for a special friends son who turned 5. I love the beach scene stamps from CC Designs and colouring with my Copics. The tin was from the Warehouse and very reasonably priced.

Thanks for looking and have a great day. LOL Tamara

Stamp Club Birthdays July 2010

Cherie's stamp club is a much looked forward to event every month for a bunch of us girls. Most of us have been attending for around 3 years now (thanks Cherie!!!). We have all formed lovely friendships and it is extra special to be able to celebrate birthdays.

In July we had two of the ladies celebrate their birthdays (hi Nicola and Alayne). Below are my contributions to the celebration. (Boxes are of course filled with chocolates, maybe missing one or two due to taste testing purposes. Can't be giving friends yuck chocolates can I?)

Thanks for looking. Have a great day. LOL Tamara

T side card and more girl birthdays!!!

For those that know me I have 4 kids. Three of them are girls and I find myself constantly making birthday cards for various parties they often get invited too. Don't get me wrong, it is fabulous for them to be invited to parties, though sometimes it feels like at least one of them is attending a party every other week.

The following are what I came up with for the latest two parties that my eldest and my youngest daughters were invited to.

This one is a T-slide card which was so much fun to "play" with and not as hard as it looks. The instructions are on splitcoast.

Pull the tag and it opens

Here's the box I made to match filled with lollies of course.

I love the crazy for cupcakes SU stamp set and have used it often.

Now this paper is definately awesome. Cottage Wall from SU. The colours are so rich and so very girly. This was based on a mojo sketch but of course I missed the cut off date once again. Sketches are fab for inspiration. I have coloured the sugar plums image with my copics.

Again I have made a handbag courtesy of Lauren Meader and I have added prima flowers to both card and bag.

Have a great day and thanks for looking. Blessings T

Father in Law's Birthday

Why is it a lot of us struggle with male cards? I was so happy last year to see the inclusion of Totally Tools in the SU Catalogue and after having seen a glimpse of the new SU catalogue (available 1st September 2010, let me know if you would like one) there is a few new sets that are again male orientated. Yay!

It was my FIL birthday on the 4th August and I found this card came together really easily with this stamp set. I also made a tool box to match (thanks to Lauren Meader) and enclosed the mandatory chocolates and then bought him rugby tickets for Friday's game.

So thats another year taken care of. Onto my dads birthday next!

Thansk for looking. Have a great day LOL Tamara

I'm Back and I am so sorry

To the few that have had a peek at my blog I thank you and in the same instance I apologise for my longggg absence. It is amazing how much life can take over and you very quickly become consumed with everyday life and other things and forget or lose what you love to escape to. However I guess that is the all consuming life of a woman be it a working woman, wife, mum and so the list goes on. It is amazing what we can achieve however sometimes it gets a little on top of us and we just need to chill out.

And so I can briefly explain my absence. Our business has been very busy. We have built and opened a new showhome, relocated the old one, built our own home (yippee!!) had 4 kids birthdays and birthday parties, had to travel (I know horrible huh!), moved house, had kids start school, start kindy, have joined the gym, busy with church committments, First SU conference (so much fun) and life!!

I so hope you can all empathise and I hope that now I am able to get on track with my blogging and spending much more time on Stampin Up and saving for the next conference in Melbourne.

And so all that being said I have not been idle in the card making department. I will endeavour over the next few days to start showing you some of the stuff I have been playing with.

This card was made for a special young man who turned 8 just last week. Hope you had a great birthday Cory.

Another birthday we celebrated last week was for our Nana La who is one of the most gorgeous people you will ever meet. She is technically my BIL's mum however ever since we met her we have fast adopted her as our Nana and Mum. She has a heart of gold. So awesome.

I used the gorgeous Parisian Breeze DSP and she really loved it.
Thanks so much for looking. Have a great day. LOL Tamara
